The Stocking Works Renovation

The renovation was a certified rehabilitation of a structure built about 1890 for the production of bobbins. Since WWII it had housed an industrial use. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places, allowing tax credit for a portion of the renovation with state and federal oversight.

The renovation changed the building into the premier office in the Newtown area, and in the process, won a state preservation award. In removing large non-historic additions, the original building was revealed. Lacking a central entry and circulation area, the courtyard was enclosed in an all glass structure.
